Mayor election on Sylt: Who will be the savior of the island?
Hamburg, Deutschland - This coming weekend, March 16, 2025, a new mayor will be elected on Sylt. The choice is characterized by remarkable change, since the previous incumbent Nikolas Häckel was elected by a citizens' decision in September 2024 and died a few weeks later. Several applicants have searched for the new head of administration to tackle the challenges of the community.
As in a report by world mentioned, there are a total of six candidates in the race - two women and four men. Three of them compete for political parties, while three run as independent. Party support is required for the proposals, and all non -party candidates have to present support signatures in triple number of municipal council members. The application deadline for candidates ends on January 20, 2025.
