Gorch Fock: Visit to the sailing school ship in Hamburg at the weekend!

The legendary "Gorch Fock", the sailing school ship of the German Navy, will start at the overseas bridge in Hamburg from November 8th! Commandant Elmar Bornkessel invites all interested parties to visit the impressive ship from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on November 9th and 10th. The BARK, which was last in Hamburg in 2015, has a turbulent time, including a six -year stay and judicial disputes that questioned the future of the ship.

After extensive renovation work, which was completed in 2021, the "Gorch Fock" is now ready for its next big mission: a trip to the USA that is due to lead to the 250th independence day of the USA in New York in 2026. But first the scheduled ship TÜV is pending in the Hamburg Norderwerft, which should be completed by November 8th. For the Hamburgers, there is also the chance to win exclusive tours on board, in which Commandant Bornkessel personally accompanies the guests.
