Harbor birthday 2025: Hamburg celebrates with maritime highlights!
Landungsbrücken, 20359 Hamburg, Deutschland - The Hamburg port birthday, which is celebrating its 836th anniversary this year, takes place from May 9th to 11th, 2025. Numerous guests and a varied celebration are planned on this festival weekend.
The highlights include an impressive inlet parade on the Elbe, which is staged with the Polish large sailor "Dar Mlodziezy" and the Bark "Alexander von Humboldt II". The “Open Ship” event is also offered for visitors, in which ships of the federal police and research can be visited. Visitors have the opportunity to gain insights into the shipping and visit historical sailing ships, including the command bridge and the machine room of emergency ships. The crew members are available to visitors for questions and demonstrate sailing maneuvers and traditional sailing techniques.

NDR television will report live from the Landungsbrücken during the port birthday. An open-air studio will be set up in which guests are welcomed from the harbor. There are also insights from different ships and party hotspots, and live reporters offer exclusive insights into the celebrations. The other attractions include musical staging on a floating stage.
The partner country this year is Burgenland from Austria. The berths for the ships during the festival are located on the Landungsbrücken, the Überseebrücke, the Brandenburg harbor, the Museum Hall of Oevelgönne, the Sandtorhafen in HafenCity and the Hansahafen.
