Hamburg's Einhorn 1 -KomMA5grad: Production of solar modules in danger!
The Hamburg Energy Start-up 1-KomMA5grad has announced that the production of solar modules in Germany was postponed indefinitely. CEO Philipp Schröder said that the plans for the construction of a domestic factory for photovoltaic modules were currently off the table. One of the main reasons for this are the high energy and wage costs in Germany that make competitive production impossible.
As early as October 2023, 1 KomMA5grad had announced that it would build solar modulence in East Germany from 2024. This factory should be able to produce photovoltaic modules with a total output of a gigawatt every year, with the long -term goal of reaching five gigawatts by 2030. The required polysilicon for the solar cells is to be obtained from Germany, while the modules themselves are manufactured in China. 1komMA5grad plans to offer the modules under their own brand names. In addition, the company's IPO was also postponed.
