Immersion Art: Port of the Lumières opens in Hamburg!
Überseequartier, Hamburg, Deutschland - On April 9, 2025, the Westfield shopping center in the overseas district of Hamburg HafenCity was opened. One of the main attractions within the new complex is the port of the Lumières, an innovative place for immersive art, which allows visitors to dive into a fascinating world of light, sound and colors. The hall, which is equipped with ten -meter -high walls and a specially designed floor, uses a total of 80 projectors to create impressive projections that present works by famous artists such as Gustav Klimt and Friedensreich Hundertwasser.
The exhibitions in the port of the Lumières are played alternately like films and offer visitors a new way of presentation of art. Managing Director Jan-Peter Becker announced that the preparations for the main exhibition entitled "Gold and Color" took over two years. The highlights of the Port of the Lumières include the mirrored Infinity Room and the Kids Atelier, where children can create their own works of art, which become part of the exhibition. Interactive elements allow visitors to experience changing scenarios such as flower fields or waves. On the opening day, the port of the Lumières recorded high number of visitors, which suggests successful sales.
art in overseas quarters
The port of the Lumières is part of a larger concept for the Westfield Hamburg-Übersekartier, which is not only devoted to business, but also of art. The focus of the opening was at the presentation of works of art, not on goods, which gives the area a special character. This immersive digital art aims to encourage the viewers to also look at the originals of the works shown, while the technology behind the impressive projections sets new standards in art education.
The port of the Lumières is operated by CultureSpaces and is intended to establish itself as an integral part of the Hamburg cultural and event landscape, such as ndr reported. The press demonstration took place in the run -up to the public opening, which was shaped by curiosity to the connection of art and digital technology.
Further information on the exhibition is also available on Zeit Emphasized art presentation.
