In Hamm there is a special event: the AOK company run will take place this evening for the 15th time. This tradition has already made roots in the city and attracts numerous participants year after year.

The anticipation for the company run is great. It is not only a sporting event, but also an opportunity to strengthen the community of companies. Different organizations, from small companies to large companies, are represented. The event attracts around 6,000 participants from more than 300 companies. There is also a variety of experiences: some participate for the first time, while others, like many managers, are there from the very beginning.

The run: information and preparations

The starting shot is located on Südstraße at 7 p.m. The route leads the runners over 5.5 kilometers at the OLG and along the Ahse before going back to the Ostenallee. As is common at such events, there will also be some diversions in public transport. The residents have to adjust to temporary road closures.

Especially with the summer temperatures of 26 degrees, it is important to be well prepared. Jens Kuschel from the AOK recommends taking enough liquid all day. It should be at least two to three liters of water to optimally support the body during the run. For the participants, water is also available during the run and the target so that nobody is dehydrated.
