Insights into everyday police life: Commissioner candidates start internship in Hamm
new police candidates will start in the everyday police life
On Monday, July 8th, 30 young people begin their internship as commissioner candidates at the Hamm police headquarters. This makes the first step of studying at the police and public administration of North Rhine-Westphalia in the practice of everyday police life.
Police President Thomas Kubera warmly welcomed the newcomers and wished them not only educational weeks, but above all good luck in their future police work. The diverse tasks of the police profession were emphasized in order to prepare the candidates for their upcoming missions.
Before their internship, the future commissioners have already completed training at the police schools in Selm and Stukenbrock. Now they are accompanied by experienced police officers to gain practical experience in police operation. Together with their tutors, they form strip teams and are therefore actively involved in the daily police operations.
After completing the internship on August 31, the further theoretical lessons follow to prepare the prospective commissioners as best as possible for their future tasks.
