New motorway bridges in Hamm: Expansion of the A1 starts 2025

improvement of the transport infrastructure planned: new bridges for the region

The A1 motorway in the region faces extensive construction work that will significantly influence the traffic volume. The start of the new building of bridges from the second half of 2025 is planned.

Why the new building is necessary

The previous bridges are getting old and have to be modernized in order to meet the increasing demands of traffic. With up to 89,100 vehicles every day from 2030, the Hansalinie becomes one of the most busy sections in the state. In order to reduce traffic jams and increase traffic safety, the measures to expand the A1 are of great importance.

new bridges as the first step of a comprehensive project

The plans for the overall expansion of the highway are still in full swing. With a total of 10.4 kilometers, which are to be expanded from four to six traces, the work is complex and require a careful procedure. In addition to the bridges mentioned, another 16 buildings have to be rebuilt to improve the flow of traffic.

The goal: less traffic jams and more efficiency in road traffic

The expansion work is an important step to reduce frequent traffic disruptions in the region. With the improved bridge constructions and the expansion of the highway, the Hansalline will be able to better withstand the rising traffic quantities in the future. This not only contributes to the safety of road users, but also to the efficiency of the entire road network.
