After many years of waiting, he is finally here: the new piercing between Marine and Oswaldstrasse, which now offers pedestrians a better connection to the shopping facilities in the Hövel town center. The path that leads over the parking lot on Oswaldstrasse was realized as part of a new construction project that was created on the site of the former shoe store Oles. A modern, three -and -a -half -storey residential building with seven barrier -free apartments was built here.

The CDU Bockum-Hövel welcomes the opening of the piercing, but notes that it should have been realized earlier. "We had expected faster implementation," regrets CDU councilor Maximilian Weißenberg. With regard to the further design of the connection, the party also expresses wishes, such as a paved surface and better lighting, to ensure safe use for all age groups. At the moment the path remains equipped with a provisional railing. The discussion about the renovation of the parking lot on Oswaldstrasse also remains a hot topic, since the CDU demands modernization of the parking bays to facilitate maneuvering.
