Cycling group defies rain: discovery tour through hamm and natural paradise
The group of cyclists from Everswinkel experienced an exciting tour that united not only sporting activities, but also cultural and natural delights. The three-day event, organized by Volker Haupt and Martina Arndts-Haupt, was a valuable contribution to community life and illustrated the structural change in the region.
a march through the rain
Despite unpredictable rainy weather on the first day, the participants could not be discouraged. The cyclists mastered the demanding route over 55 kilometers with flying colors and finally reached the city of Hamm, where they had the opportunity to relax in a pleasant accommodation. This persistence and the team spirit testify to the strong cooperation within the group.
Structural Change and Nature Conservation
The second day of the tour led the group along the Datteln-Hamm channel to Marina Rünthe. Here it becomes clear how the region has developed in the direction of renaturation and nature conservation. These changes are not only impressive for cyclists, but also a sign of sustainable use of resources. The numerous nature conservation areas offered the participants insights into biological diversity and the opportunity to experience in harmony with nature.
discover art and history
Another highlight of the tour was the lead over the marker cemetery, where important personalities of the Hammer city history are buried. Here the cyclists not only got to know the past of the city, but also discovered the columbarium, whose colorful windows were designed by the Everswinkel artist Albert Reinker. Such cultural aspects add a valuable dimension to the excursions and promote the cultural identity of the participants.
experience nature up close
On the third day, the day trippers cycled to the nature reserve Lippeaue, where blooming meadows and diverse wildlife could be explored. The design of this recreational area impressively shows what natural leisure activities can look like and how important the protection of such areas is, especially in urban regions. Here the importance of compensation between urban life and nature is taken into account.
art and creativity in focus
A special experience was the visit to the foundation of the artist Otmar Alt, which offered the cyclists insight into current exhibitions. Dr. Diana Lenz-Weber conducted the group expertly through the versatile works of the now 84-year-old artist. These encounters with art and culture enrich the cyclist experience and promote appreciation for creative forms of expression.
strengthen community feeling
The return trip to the home town was the successful end of an eventful tour. With a length of 58 kilometers, the journey through the hilly surrounding area from Hamm ensured the ideal end. The participants agreed that the combination of sporting activity, art, nature experiences and community is a recurring highlight for the community.
Overall, this tour not only shows the beauty of the natural landscapes and cultural highlights of the area, but also how important such initiatives are for strengthening the sense of community and the exchange between the participants.
