Raid in Hanover: drugs, weapons and two monkeys discovered
In Lower Saxony, a recently carried out raid caused a stir. As part of an investigation into a drug network, the investigators of the Lower Saxony State Criminal Police Office and customs were not only discovered drugs and weapons, but also two exotic monkeys. This campaign took place in the cities of Hanover and Salzgitter and turned out to be extremely successful.
During the operation, the emergency services searched a total of 16 objects, including apartments, garages and a company. The months of hidden investigations led to an impressive find: over 20 kilograms of drugs of different types, including cocaine, marijuana and amphetamines, were confiscated. In addition to the drugs, cash of 45,000 euros, gold jewelry, as well as two weapons, including one saber and an ax, were also secured.
the drug ring and its members
Investigators' sights are seven alleged members of the drug ring who are between 21 and 51 years old. The suspects come from different countries, including Albania, Russia, Turkey and Germany. This international group apparently understood it well to protect and manage its illegal goods. The leadership role within the ring is to be taken over by two men who are 34 and 31 years old. The 31-year-old was put into custody, while his accomplice has so far been able to successfully avoid access by the police.
The discovery of the monkeys
A particularly curious find during the raid was the discovery of two illegally kept white tufts, also known as brush ears. These animal species come from South America and were found in an apartment that was connected to the drug ring. The authorities immediately took measures to ensure the well -being of the animals. An LKA spokesman, Philipp Hasse, explained that the health of the monkeys was okay and they were brought to a sanctuary where they are initially held in quarantine.
This raid not only illustrates the stubborn and efficient work of the investigators, but also throws a light on the complex network behind the drug trafficking. The different nationalities of those involved and the combination of drugs and illegal animal husbandry show the complexity of the criminal machinations. This operation is a further step in the fight against drug trafficking in Germany and gives rise to hope that further such networks can be excavated quickly.
