Rinteln's special treasure: A 50 -year -old olive tree blooms!
In Rinteln, a 50 -year -old olive tree attracts everyone's attention! Murat Demirel, the owner of the Ephesus jewelry business, placed this extraordinary tree in front of his shop in a bucket. Originally related from Spain and a wholesale market in Hanover, the olive tree is not only an eye -catcher, but also a sign of the care of this ancient crop.
But the attitude is not without challenges: the tree is sensitive to frost, which is why Demirel has agreed with a local gardener that he places the olive tree in a greenhouse over the winter. In summer the tree needs a lot of sun and Demirel takes care of him with dedication. "The secret recipe? Lots of love!" He explains with a smile. Although the tree flourished this year, the olives failed to materialize. But the hope remains: Maybe he will bear fruit next year. More on www.szlz.de .
