Rathenow: Wild boars overrun Weinberg - Park stays tight!

The Park system Weinberg in Rathenow remains closed until further notice due to an increasing wild boar problem. The city has announced this drastic measure since Thursday to ensure the safety of visitors. From Monday, the action of the wild boars in the 12.8 hectare local recreation area will be restricted- the hunting with a corresponding approval of the lower hunting authority begins in the evening and night hours.

Visible signs should keep the walkers away from the closed entrances. An exact date for the reopening of the vineyard, an important landmark of Rathenow with the iconic Bismarck Tower, remains uncertain. The initiative aims to minimize the damage caused by wild boar and to ensure the safety of visitors. More information can be found in an article at www.tagesschau.de .
