New sports facility in Pfaffengrund: Modernization for youth and integration

The sports landscape in Heidelberg is currently experiencing a decisive change, especially through the extensive renewal of the sports facility of TSV Pfaffengrund. The association, which plays a central role in the local sports offer, invests both in the infrastructure and in the community, which is brought together by sport.

An important step towards promoting sports

The need for a comprehensive renovation of the sports facility became clear when more injuries were found among the athletes. The condition of the existing system, which has been used since the early 1970s, was very out of date. The renovation was therefore urgently necessary, not least on the basis of an application from TSV Pfaffengrund, which was approved by the local council in November 2023.

restructuring of the venues

The main playing field is currently being converted to sustainable artificial turf, which is made of 80 percent of bio -based plastic, which is made of sugar cane. This environmentally friendly decision reflects growing awareness of sustainability in the sports facility. In addition, the athletics system is modernized and a combination system for beach volleyball and shot put is installed, which will increase the versatility of the sports offer.

The McArena: Sports offer for any weather conditions

An outstanding feature of this renovation project is the almost completed McArena. This covered small playing field can be used all year round, regardless of the weather. With an area of 15 by 30 meters, it offers the members of the association a protected space for sporting activities. This is particularly important because the sports facilities in the region are limited and it ensures that sports offers can be carried out reliably and regardless of the weather.

appreciation of an important athlete

With the completion of the construction work in autumn 2024, the sports facility will be renamed Emil-Kühnle system. Emil Kühnle, a respected member of the association and committed sponsor of football in North Baden, is honored. This naming not only recognizes his sporting commitment, but also his role model for future generations.

an association with far -reaching social initiatives

TSV Pfaffengrund, with over 1,000 members, including more than 400 young people, is not only known for its sporting offers, but also for his strong social commitment. The association is committed to the integration of people with migration history and refugees and offers numerous programs for seniors and cooperation with schools and kindergartens. These comprehensive social components make the association a real community center in Heidelberg.

an investment in the future

The renewal of the sports facility at TSV Pfaffengrund symbolizes a significant investment in health and well -being of the Heidelberg citizens. Mayor Eckart Würzner emphasized the importance of these measures: "The modernization of the sports facility is an investment in the health and well -being of Heidelbergers." This project shows how important sport is for the community and how it contributes to increasing the quality of life in the city. The volunteer work of the association and its initiatives for integration throw a positive light on the entire region and set an inspiring benchmark for other clubs and organizations.
