Tragic accident in Rohrbach: 77-year-old fatally injured!

A 77-year-old woman was fatally injured on Tuesday morning on Karlsruher Straße in Rohrbach in a tragic accident. After initial investigations, the senior crossed the busy road when she was hit by a 29-year-old Mazda driver who was traveling towards the city center around 7:15 a.m. The impact was so violent that the woman was taken to the hospital with life -threatening injuries, but died there.

Because of the incident, Karlsruher Straße had to be closed in both directions for about three hours, which led to considerable traffic jams and diversions in road and rail transport. The closures were lifted again shortly after 10 a.m., but the right lane towards Heidelberg was initially closed until the car's car could be towed.
