German adolescents dominate at the European Finer Swimming Championships in Lithuania

bilicz shows top performance at the European Years European Championship in Lithuania

At the Yugend European Championship in Finswimming in Klaipeda, Lithuania, 16-year-old Benedikt Bilicz from the Heilbronn diving club showed an impressive performance. With his 10th place over 50m apnea, he sat at the top of Europe with a time of 16.28 seconds and just missed a final participation by 0.24 seconds.

The German national team, led by national coach Martin Grabowski and the assistant coaches Max Poschart and Jens-Peter Ostrowsky, traveled to Lithuania on June 24, where they achieved great success in a strong field of participants. The 15-year-old Hannah Troppschuh from TC Nemo Plauen fought for a bronze medal in the 400m route diving discipline.

The German athletes showed other outstanding achievements with a total of 19 top-end placements in the individual disciplines. Alma Kellermann from TSC Rostock also secured a bronze medal in 100m ST with a time of 00: 39.07 minutes from the athletes from France and Ukraine.

In addition, the women's relay and the men's relay of the German team were able to achieve considerable placements. The women's relay, consisting of Kellermann, Manthey, Eggert and Säbisch, took 5th place (4 × 50 FS and 4 × 100 FS) as well as the 4th place in the 4 × 200 fs discipline. The men's relay with Schoodt, Berger, Stegemann and Bilicz secured 5th place over 4 × 50 FS and 7th place over 4 × 100 fs. The male 4 × 200 meter relay rounded off the success of the German team with a 5th place.

The German Finswimmers showed with their achievements at the Yugend European Championship that they are among the top athletes in Europe and can assert themselves in a strong international field. We can be excited to see what success you will achieve in the future.
