New cycle path: Construction from Bad Wimpfen to Heilbronn starts in 2024!
The Stuttgart regional council has announced the construction of a new cycle path from Bad Wimpfen to Heilbronn! On October 14, 2024 it starts with the first section - a 1.3 kilometer -long demonstration route from Bad Wimpfen to the Frießinger Mühle. The ambitious project should be completed by April 2025. This route will display the future rapid rapid connection, including the markings and signs.
During the construction work, the existing bike path along the Neckar from Bad Wimpfen to Untereisesheim is completely closed. Cyclists have to adjust to diversions: The new path leads back to Untereisesheim via Offenau, Jagstfeld and Bad Friedrichshall. The total cost of the demonstration route amounts to around 900,000 euros, of which 75 percent are financed by the federal government and 25 percent by the state of Baden-Württemberg. The regional council asks all road users for understanding the inconvenience that will arise during the construction period.
