Democracy week in Herne: Young people shape their city!

In the second autumn holiday week, from October 21 to 25, 2024, the “We in Herne- The Democracy Week” is held in the six urban children's and youth facilities of Herne. This exciting week of action, which is organized by the young members of the future committee and youth promotion, offers a variety of workshops for children and adolescents. Starting with a dance and theater workshop to puzzles and graffiti to comic creation and film photography-there is something for everyone!

The workshops are aimed at different age groups; From the smallest from the age of six up to young people up to 14 years. A special highlight will be a visit to the Herne Rathaus, where the participants directly learn from members of the children's and youth parliamentary how democracy is practically lived in the city. On Friday, October 25th, a final festival will take place in the H2Ö district center, in which the results from the workshops are presented.
