Willi Hettrich's success story at the WDM in Cologne
Mini golf is very popular and so it was not surprising that 90 participants were at the West German Championships on the mini golf course at ACR in Cologne. Under the direction of the MGC Bergisch Gladbach Gierath, the tournament was organized and offered exciting competitions for everyone involved.
Day 1: The start on Saturday was promising for the four Wanne-Eickler players. Willi Hettrich stood out by taking the lead at seniors 2 with impressive performance. His outstanding blue round with only 24 strokes was a record record and put it clearly at the top.
Day 2: On the second day, there was good news for all players, since the NBV, as the national association, provided additional starting places for the German Championship in Herten. Herbert and Chris fought solidly, but could not quite build on their top performance. Willi, on the other hand, once again dominated with a strong 22 round and further expanded his lead.
final rounds: Willi continued his triumphal procession and was able to bring the championship title with the seniors 2 safely with a solid performance. His competition could not be dangerous to him, and he ended the tournament with an impressive lead.
The trip to the West German Championship was a complete success for the team of the MGC Rot-Weiß Wanne-Eickel. In particular, Willi's two blue rounds were an outstanding performance and gave hope for a promising participation in the German Championship in Herten. "Good blow!"
