A traffic accident on federal road 208 near Sierksrade caused a sensation yesterday afternoon (July 14, 2024). In a right curve, a 58-year-old driver lost control of his Dacia Duster and came off the road. The vehicle overturned in the ditch and remained on the driver's side. Thanks to first aiders, the driver could be freed from the car.
When the accident recording, the officials found that the driver was alcoholic. A voluntary breath alcohol test resulted in a preliminary value of 2.0 per thousand. A blood sample was removed by arrangement and the driver's license was drawn in. The B 208 had to be partially closed until the salvage measures were completed and the road could be released at 6:30 p.m.
The 58-year-old Ahrensburger will now have to answer for suspected drunk driving. This incident again illustrates the dangers of alcohol at the wheel and the consequences that such misconduct can result.
