Protest in Kassel: traffic blocked, police stepped in!

On Wednesday evening there was an unexpected protest from the group "Last generation" in Kassel. At around 5 p.m., demonstrating people blocked Frankfurter Straße and Steinweg, which led to considerable traffic disruptions. Despite the advance notice of protest weeks, the meeting was not registered in advance. The police, which was prepared for the situation, ran the traffic far space, but could not completely avoid the impairments.

Since the demonstrators did not do the police's requirements, the meeting was dissolved at 5:40 p.m. The requests to leave the street were also ignored, which led to the necessary self -assurance, so that emergency services carried several participants from the road. In total, the personal details of 74 protesters were found, including four people who had climbed on the roof of the State Theater and a work of art from the documenta to show banner. All participants were granted for the expenses and initiated administrative offenses procedure due to violation of the Hessian Freedom of Meeting Act. At around 6:30 p.m., traffic was largely normalized.
