Nieheim had a catching event on offer last weekend - the 13th German cheese market. Not only cheese was presented here, but also made the entire spectrum of agricultural activities in the region. At the booth of the Höxter Agricultural Association, visitors were offered an interesting and versatile program.

Antonius Tillmann, the chairman of the district association, spoke enthusiastically about the innovations presented this year. "For example, a milk tasting and a knowledge action course was new this year," said Tillmann. This initiative should bring the topics of agriculture and milk closer to visitors in a clear way.

A very special part of the event was the milk tasting. Tillmann explained: "We are concerned with the great taste of the milk, which we would like to experience again." The organizers wanted to show that many people often only enjoy the milk in a processed form without knowing the real taste. In this action, the participants were able to try and compare various milk types such as whole milk, H-milk, fat-reduced milk and even oat milk. The focus was on discovering the variety of dairy products and their tastes.

Johannes Claes, milk farmer and deputy district association chairman, explained the first step of cheese production and explained how the milk is generated. At the stand, interested visitors found a lot of information about the milk source Kuh and the different production methods. The attractiveness of the market was increased by the exciting combination of information and tasting.
