In addition, a small amount of amphetamine and cocaine as well as two weapons of shotguns were found. In Salzhemmendorf, around 600 cannabis plants were discovered on two floors, while 1050 cannabis plants were secured in Clausthal-Zellerfeld. arrest and investigation results
All accused were subjected to a detectional treatment. A 56-year-old man from Hanover was temporarily arrested and is to be brought before the judge on March 20, 2025. Other suspects could be released after police measures. Heidrun Schäfer, head of operations, was satisfied with the results of the investigation and cooperation with the public prosecutor.
These search measures carried out show that the police are decisive against the illegal trade and cultivation of cannabis. This happens against the background of the new legal regulations that came into force on April 1, 2024 with the entry into force of the Cannabis Act (KCang). Among other things, this law stipulates that adults can have cannabis within certain limits and that the cultivation of up to three plants is allowed for private use. Nevertheless, as in this case, commercial trade remains strong in the focus of the investigative authorities in order to combat drug crime.
