Marlene Kaiser's path to primary school teacher: an FSJ full of inspiration

After her Abitur, Marlene Kaiser, 18 years old, was initially decided to go abroad. But ultimately she convinced her family that there are exciting opportunities on her own front door. So Marlene started a voluntary social year (FSJ) at TSV Etting and not only found new perspectives, but also her dream job: primary school teacher.

an insight into the teaching profession

During her FSJ, Marlene dipped into school life, but from a special perspective. She had previously been active as a supporter of a youth coach and had a passion for working with children. Now she was given the opportunity to train her own basketball team and to design hands-on offers in various primary schools. "Through working with the students, I learn to learn with them independently and to solve conflicts," explains Marlene enthusiastically.

diverse organizational tasks

But Marlenes engagement extends beyond the sporty. In the association's office, she is responsible for the maintenance of member lists and the organization of games and coaching meetings. It is interesting that TSV Etting has almost no costs for your FSJ, since the financing is carried out by various facilities such as Caritas and Kolping. This support allows Marlene to be able to concentrate on her tasks and at the same time to strengthen the community.

community through sport

An important element in Marlenes FSJ was the summer festival, which she carried out as her own project. Here she wanted to create a feeling of belonging together in the club and promote a connection between different sports departments. "It was a great festival where basketball players, footballers and other athletes celebrated together," says Marlene. This event shows that cooperation and community are also of great importance in sports.

education days and personal development

Another aspect of your FSJ is the regular education days that Marlene feels enriching. These events not only offer technical training, but also the opportunity to establish important social contacts. "It was noticeable how sport connects," she says of a recent joint coaching license, in which numerous participants took part. Marlene therefore encourages young people to consider an FSJ position to grow both personally and professionally.

Overall, Marlene sees her time at TSV Etting as exciting and fulfilling. She not only acquired new skills, but also defined her professional path more clearly. The experiences she has had could offer inspiration, as well as their commitment to a living community in sport.
