Vodafone tests 400 Mbit/s upload speed - only in Bochum and Ingolstadt!

Vodafone revolutionizes the internet speed for selected customers

Vodafone recently surprised its customers with the announcement to drastically increase the upload speed. This is particularly noteworthy, since many users have so far complained about the slow internet connection, especially when uploading files.

Vodafone sets new standards for upload speed

So far, Vodafone has scored with a download speed of 50 megabytes per second, but the provider lagged behind during the upload. That should change now, because Vodafone plans to offer a breathtaking speed of 400 Mbit/s.

This step was taken with great enthusiasm by consumers, but there is a drop of bitterness. The tests are initially limited to the cities of Bochum and Ingolstadt, which means that only about 50,000 households can use the improved speed.

Only selected customers benefit from the innovation

Even if the test is successful, there is no guarantee that these high-speed uploads will be available throughout Germany. Marcel de Groot, CEO of Vodafone Germany, emphasized that a comprehensive adjustment to 400 Mbit/s is initially not planned.

To ensure this service, it requires hybrid fiber coax cable (HFC), a combination of fiber optic and coaxial cables. Although many customers are enthusiastic about this innovation, it remains to be seen whether there is a need for a nationwide implementation.

The initiative of Vodafone to revolutionize the internet speed comes across mixed reactions in the community. The question remains whether the customers who cannot benefit from the tests will be satisfied or whether further improvements are emerging in the future.
