Intershop Jena: With AI and new customers back in the profit zone!
The Intershop Communications AG from Jena has made impressive progress and shows the black again! After months of austerity measures and intensive negotiations with new customers, the company can look at an increase in sales of four percent compared to the previous year - that makes 29.7 million euros. The operational result jumps from a minus of 1.5 million euros to 600,000 euros - a real turnaround.
But despite this positive development, CEO Markus Klahn remains careful. The economic framework is still challenging. While the summer months are traditionally weak, Intershop feels a significant purchase and increased investment shifts on the part of customers. Nevertheless, one shows yourself optimistically in the conversations with new customers and gives great hopes for artificial intelligence. With a new product function, it will soon be possible to simply integrate AI assistants into web shops-an exciting innovation for the industry.
