Weimar badminton stars celebrate double victory and conquer the top!
Weimar, Deutschland - The badminton association Weimar is currently shining with impressive successes and remains unbeaten at the head of the Thuringia League! The first team recently celebrated two sovereign victories: an 8-0 against Jena-Zwatzen and a strong 6: 2 against the UPS Jena. This impressive performance underlines the dominance of the team in the league.
The 13th onion cup, which welcomed both district league players and professional tournaments, took place in Weimar at the same time. Lea Wenzel and Kathrin Bamberger from TSV Arnstadt won the women in doubles. Steffen Franke and Jörg Bamberger were allowed to cheer in the men's doubles, while the mixed double of Arnstadt also took first place. On Sunday, the onion cup was used to run the C19 C-ranking list, in which 61 players took part. Dirk Knörig from ESV Lok Erfurt won in class B, while Tobias Lesser from Gera won class A. The Weimar players also shone; Kathleen Thyrolf won gold in the women's singles in class B and Lilli Stampler showed a strong performance with fifth place in class A.
