Timetable change in rush hour traffic: Mainz-Süd motorway junction closed after a gable tractor accident
delays and diversions: Traffic accident on the AK Mainz-Süd ensures chaos
A traffic accident paralyzed the Mainz-Süd motorway junction early Friday morning. A tractor had lost control on the A60 towards Bingen and blocked the departure to the A63 to Kaiserslautern. The road had to be blocked due to expired operating materials, which led to considerable delays in rush hour.
The clean -up work dragged on until the afternoon, which redirected traffic via the Lerchenberg junction. The rescue workers were in constant use to recover the saddle tractor and clean the road. The police, the Mainz professional fire brigade and the Heidesheim motorway championship worked together to defuse the situation.
In addition to the direct consequences of the accident, there were also further incidents as a result of traffic jams. Two further rear -end collisions with low property damage occurred in the morning, which made the situation even more difficult.
The full closure also led to an unexpected blocking of the Hechtsheim tunnel, since the brand registration was triggered. After an hour, however, the lock could be lifted and the traffic could flow normally again.
road users are asked to consider the diversions and bring patience to them, since there may continue to be delays. The safety of everyone involved comes first, and the emergency services work tirelessly to release the streets again as quickly as possible.
