Messeplatz, 67655 Kaiserslautern, Deutschland - The October Kerwe in Kaiserslautern, which was celebrated from October 18 to 28, ended successfully and attracted between 155,000 and 160,000 visitors. The family day on October 23 was the Highlight with most guests. Police spokesman Steffen Kroll said pleased about the peaceful course of the festival, which was accompanied by a strong police presence. In this context, over 100 personal checks were carried out, including 53 in children and adolescents. Only seven crimes, including some assault and a violation of the Narcotics Act, were reported.

The city of Kaiserslautern and the municipal enforcement service also took a positive balance. At peak times, up to ten civil servants were used to ensure that the cannabis consumption and weapon ban was observed. The perception of cannabis hunt was only sporadic, and very few violations were found. With a pocket control, only a small amount of cannabis was found for a 16-year-old. A highlight was the return of a lost child to his mother, made possible by a specially furnished "emergency island" on the festival site. Further details can be found here
