Regional train collides with horse: no injured, but blocking the route

Accident between the train and horse in Lauterecken

An unfortunate incident occurred in Lauterecken this morning when a regional train collided with a free -range horse. Fortunately, no passengers were injured in the collision because the train only had twelve travelers and the train driver on board.

The Federal Police Inspection in Kaiserslautern informed the emergency control center of the Deutsche Bahn at 7:43 a.m. The train was on the way from Lauterecken to Kaiserslautern when the horse was grasped by the train shortly after the stop of the stop.

When the officials arrived at the scene of the accident, the horse was already dead. The owner of the animal was notified and took care of the removal of the carcass. Fortunately, the train was not damaged, and the emergency manager of the Deutsche Bahn approved the onward journey to Kaiserslautern after he had personally examined the train.

The route was closed due to the incident from 07:37 a.m. to 9:49 a.m., which led to delays in train traffic.

It is important to ensure that free -range animals are kept away in order to avoid such incidents in the future. The security of the passengers and the integrity of animals must be taken into account equally in order to prevent tragic incidents like this.

If you have any questions, the Federal Police Inspection Kaiserslautern and Deutsche Bahn are happy to be available.
