Train cancellations in the Palatinate: Deutsche Bahn hires operation on 05.07

The lack of train operating staff led to train failures in the Palatinate on Friday and probably also on Saturday. Deutsche Bahn had to stop the company between Kaiserslautern and Pirmasens because the signal box was understaffed. This meant that from 4 p.m. there were no more trains on this route. In addition, all routes around Pirmasens are affected from 9:30 p.m.

The missing dispatchers who operate the electronic signal boxes in the Palatinate have led to further restrictions on train traffic. There were also train cancellations in the area of the front Palatinate and on routes beyond the Rhine due to the lack of personnel. Due to increased sick leave, there was also no engine staff, which led to additional train failures.

The DB Regio Mitte is working on reducing the number of default trains by resolving layers. Nevertheless, individual train cancellations can also be expected on Saturday, since not all working layers could be covered. Travelers are therefore recommended to consult the Internet train information or the App DB-Navigator before starting travel.

The trains concerned are marked in the train information or are already removed. The exact details of the unusual connections can be viewed online. It is pointed out that this information is subject to and can still change if further personnel bottlenecks occur.

The restrictions on train traffic have led to inconvenience for travelers in the Palatinate. Deutsche Bahn tries to clarify the Situation as quickly as possible and to restore regular operation.
