Karlsruhe is refueling: HVO100 - The environmentally friendly diesel from old fats!

The innovative diesel HVO100, made from old page oil and fat residues, is now also available in Karlsruhe! Drivers can refuel the environmentally friendly fuel since May 2023, and the first gas station, which offers HVO100, is located at Wolfartsweierer Straße 46. According to the information from EFA Panzstellen GmbH, this new fuel is achieved with a CO₂ emission emission of up to 90 percent. The ADAC has already tested the HVO100 diesel and confirmed that it can also be used without hesitation in older vehicles if the manufacturer approves this.

EFA managing director Wolfgang driver emphasizes the importance of this sustainable fuel alternative for customers. However, the new diesel does not come without a price increase: HVO100 costs between five and 20 cents per liter more than conventional diesel. Experts estimate that it will take some time before HVO100 is available nationwide at German petrol stations because there are space and technical challenges. EFA is already planning to equip two more petrol stations with HVO100 in the coming year to increase availability. Further information can be found
