New election in Rastatt: Who can finally vote after breakdown in June?
At the local election in Rastatt on June 9, around 1,000 voters could not vote due to a breakdown when sending the postal voting documents. As a result, this next Sunday, October 20, a new election of the district and municipal council members and the local councils will take place in the affected districts. The Karlsruhe Regional Council had partially declared the original election invalid. Deutsche Post will deliver the new election documents this time after the previous company failed.
In the districts of Rauental, Niederbühl with Förch, Plittersdorf, Ottersdorf and Wintersdorf, voters are called to give up their voices again, while the election in the core city remains valid. Important: The old election documents are no longer valid! Voters have to apply for a new ballot by Saturday, October 19, in order to be able to participate in the repetition. If you suddenly fall ill on the election day, you can apply for an postal vote by 3 p.m. To ensure that your votes are counted in good time, the election documents must have arrived at the city administration by 6 p.m. Further information on the election is available on the official website of the city of Rastatt, according to www.swr.de .
