Safe cycling: AI-based innovations for traffic safety in Möhelm Fileich

thanks to the artificial intelligence more mobilizer

Digitization has a significant influence in the way we move. Thanks to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in various areas, including cycling, it becomes possible to improve security on the streets and prevent accidents.

The Technical University of Kassel leads a research consortium that focuses on developing AI-based systems in order to make cycling safer. This focus is to establish the basics for the detection of bicycle behavior and to adapt the infrastructure and bicycle training programs accordingly.

A central concern of the project "Dynamo: Safe and Sustainable Mobility in the City of Morning" is to reduce the number of traffic accidents, especially in children and young adults. By integrating AI-based solutions into the transport sector, potential collisions can be avoided.

The partners of this research consortium consist of a variety of disciplines, including computer science, law, transport science and traffic psychology. Together they research how cycling can be made more securely by using AI.

A crucial aspect of this project is the development of a warning system that uses AI to analyze the behavior of cyclists and, if necessary, send real -time warnings via mobile devices such as smartphones or smartwatches. By integrating smart technologies into the transport sector, it will be possible to automatically record and evaluate the bike behavior.

The state of Hesse supports this future-oriented project with a significant financial contribution from the Loewe program. This investment aims to improve mobility in the region and to increase traffic safety as a whole.

Thanks to the advanced research work in the field of artificial intelligence, it will be possible in the future to make cycling more secure and more efficient. The integration of AI into the traffic sector will help reduce the number of accidents and to strengthen the mobility of the population.
