The city of Kassel has arranged a nightly speed limit from km / h on eleven heavily noise -loaded road sections to give residents a better night's sleep. The noise -reducing effect of this speed limit is documented by specialist studies, since a reduction in the tempo from 50 to 30 km/h can reduce the noise by up to three dB (a), which corresponds to the halving of traffic. According to the city of Kassel, an estimated 6,200 residents benefit from this measure. In addition, another 20 street sections are in the exam, whereby the implementation of further measures depends on the experience with the first eleven sections.
