Tragic accident on A7: 19-year-old dies when collecting with truck

In the early Saturday morning there was a tragic traffic accident on Autobahn 7 between Seesen and Schwalenberg, in which a 19-year-old driver from Northeim had a fatal accident. The accident occurred around 2:34 a.m. when the young man with his Audi unchecked a truck team. According to the police, a 44-year-old truck driver from church work overtook a Polish tractor-trailer before the impact, while the Audi driver was on the middle lane at high speed. As a result, the Audi wedged under the truck trailer and later collided with the tractor -trailer on the right lane. The 19-year-old still succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident.

The accident caused property damage of around 40,000 euros, with both the Audi and the supporter of the truck suffered total damage. A subsequent Romanian truck driver damaged his fuel tank when he drove over debris, which resulted in a diesel lane. Autobahn 7 had to be completely closed towards Kassel until 10:20 a.m., which led to a kilometer -long traffic jam. A total of 50 fire brigade, police and emergency services were on site.
