On June 29 and 30, 2024, the Institute for Building at the Kiel University of Applied Sciences first took part in the day of architecture and engineering construction, which was organized by the architect and engineering chamber of Schleswig-Holstein. This participation was not only an important step for the Kiel University of Applied Sciences, but also contributed to promoting interest and understanding of architecture and civil engineering.

The day of architecture and engineering construction aims to emphasize the importance of architecture and engineering for our built environment. It offers a platform to emphasize the creativity, passion and competence of the planners who are committed to sustainable and future -oriented buildings, quarters, cities and infrastructures.

As the first building training university in Schleswig-Holstein, the Institute for Building opened its doors to the public and enabled a fascinating insight into the work processes and designs of the students. The new premises on the Kiel sea fish market offered a modern learning environment and advanced work methods of the architectural course.

In the model building workshop, visitors had the opportunity to look at current models and designs and to exchange ideas with the students and teachers. In particular, young people who are interested in studying in this area have received valuable insights into the potential of studying for questions about sustainability and climate change in construction and in infrastructure planning.

The participation of the Institute for Building on the Day of Architecture and Engineering Crew met with a positive response and showed the region's interest in the new educational offer. Since the winter semester 2023/24, the FH Kiel has been offering an eight -semester bachelor's degree in architecture, which supplements the existing offer in the field of civil engineering.
