Finally movement: Fortress Friedrichsort could open in summer!
After 20 years of the fight, the club of friends of the Friedrichsort fortress finally sees light at the end of the tunnel! The last German sea festival in the Friedrichsort district of Kiel could soon become open to the public. Thanks to an agreement with the private owners, a "gentle opening" of the fortress is planned in the summer months from April to October. Opening times should apply daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. to enable cultural events and encounters. But it remains to be seen whether the Kiel Business Development and Structural Development Society (KiWi) also agrees to finally toast this door.
Michael Gedamke criticized the Greens that hardly any progress has been made in recent years regarding the opening of the fortress. An urban development concept that included promising ideas was without implementation. Further plans for the comprehensive development of the fortress could be accompanied by costs of around 90 million euros, which puts the implementation a long way off. It is encouraging, however, that the private owners finally showed upcoming and Gedamke hopes for the city's rapid consent to the opening concept. There is details on the ongoing development in a report by www.kn-online.de .
