BMW driver with 9.16 kg drugs on A57 arrested in Goch: Federal Police initiates investigation

The federal police secured five kilograms of amphetamine and four kilograms of crack during border controls as part of the Euro 2024 in Goch. This was ordered by the Federal Minister of the Interior and for Home, whereby all Schengen internal borders were temporarily checked.

On Sunday afternoon, July 7, 2024, a 21-year-old German was checked on the 57 motorway when he arrived from the Netherlands. He stated that he stayed in the Hague for a week. During the check, the officers found the drugs and a one -handed knife in the trunk of his BMW 316i in a plastic bag.

The man was temporarily arrested and brought to the Federal Police Inspection Kleve for further processing. The Zoll investigator Essen took over the further investigation, and the accused was taken into custody on judicial order. The drug sales value of the drugs is estimated at EUR 230,000.
