Carlo sloth conquers the Kleve zoo - a new star is here!
In the Kleve zoo, there is reason to be happy: The cute sloth Carlo has moved into its new home! After several years at the Hoyerswerda Zoo, Carlo is now part of the Klever animal family and can now be seen every day for visitors from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. "We had contact with the breeding book for over two years and now we can finally keep this special animal species," explains zoo manager Martin Polotzek proudly.
originally born in Krefeld, Carlo was housed in Hoyerswerda seven years ago, but it turned out that he was probably sterile. By moving to Kleve, his ex-partner in Hoyerswerda is to get the chance of a new male, which could contribute to the preservation of the species. In his new home, Carlo shares the area with four liszstaffes. The doubts that originally come from Brazil are known for their slow locomotion and their ability to stay in the trees unnoticed.
