Fire brigade Kleve saves red panda lady Kamala made of tree crown!
Kleve, Deutschland - The fire brigade Kleve saved a red panda on the evening of October 29, 2024, which had broken out of its enclosure. The employees of the Klever Tiergarten reported the situation after discovering the Panda lady Kamala in a tree in the adjacent forest. With the help of a thermal chart drone, a five-member team was able to quickly locate the animal, which was decisive in difficult lighting conditions. "With the naked eye we would have had no chance at dusk," said zoo manager Martin Polotzek.
The rescue teams use a turntable ladder to safely capture Kamala from a height of about 15 meters. Fortunately, the Panda lady was brought back into its system intact without the risk of people at all times. In order to prevent future outbreaks, the zoo is planning adjustments to Kamala's enclosure. Red pandas have been an endangered species since 2008, with an estimated only about 10,000 adult animals in the game. These fascinating animals spend most of their lives in tree tops and are difficult to discover there despite their striking red color. Further information can be found on www.ksta.de .
