Violent rain showers in the district of Kleve: This is how it goes on!
The district of Kleve experienced an impressive but also challenging weather phenomenon on Monday evening. Violent rain showers and impressive storm cells pulled across the region and caused some exciting moments. At 7 p.m., dark storm clouds gathered over Emmerich, where long -drawn flash formations illuminated the sky and a fascinating picture. Hubert Reyers, meteorologist from Kellen, documented that 32.8 millimeters rain in Kleve trowels alone.
In the affected cities, there were some missions of the fire brigade, but dramatic flooding, as recently in Dinslaken, failed to materialize. The fire brigade had to be active in Weeze because water in the basement could be seen in a restaurant. There the water gathered at a remarkable two meters. The rapid action of the rescue workers helped avoid greater damage.
missions by the fire brigade in the region
The Weeze fire brigade was used several times that evening. In Bedburg-Hau, the fire brigade needed support around 9 p.m. to remove a tree from Wallstrasse. A little later, around 7:30 p.m., another team was called to Pastor-Eich-Straße, where water dripped from the ceiling of an apartment building. Since the owners were not present, the fire brigade had to act together with the police and examine the apartment. Fortunately, only a small water damage was found, so that the situation could be quickly brought under control. Apart from these incidents, it remained relatively quiet in Bedburg-Hau.
Wetterbauer Hubert Reyers described that the heavy rains would not have any extensive weather changes on Monday evening. Weather forecasts suggest that a large rain area will pull across the circle on Wednesday night, which also causes cooler air into the region. This could mean the end of the heat wave. Reyers expressed the opinion that the 30-degree mark on the Lower Rhine will no longer be exceeded this year.
What about the coming days? On Wednesday it is expected to be cool with temperatures between 18 and 20 degrees, accompanied by light landers. The weather conditions should improve for Thursday, the sun will be shown and the temperatures could rise to a pleasant 26 to 27 degrees. This means that there are definitely beautiful late summer days that people can enjoy in the region.
The development of the weather remains exciting and reminds us of how dynamically the weather can be this season. The mixture of rain showers, thunderstorms and the upcoming sun rays shows that late summer often causes surprises, even if the summer temperatures are considered over.
