The students of the Faculty of Technology and Bionics achieved remarkable success at the European International Submarine Race in Gosport, England. The submarine Chelonia, which was developed by a dedicated team of students under the direction of team captain Sophia Felicia Salome Döring, was in competition for the first time. The construction of the underwater vehicle, which consists of the recyclable materials PETG and aluminum, embodies the principles of the bionics. The pilot Oskar Neumann uses its muscle strength to locate, which is a sustainable innovation that was inspired by the drive of animals such as fish and penguins.
