New planting on Spyckstraße in Kleve: Measures against vandalism and protection of nature planned
planting on Spyckstraße by vandalism badly damaged
The city of Kleve planned a new, insect -friendly planting along Spyckstraße to adapt to climate change. Over 5,000 perennials and trees were planted, accompanied by five trees and the installation of a plate tape along the parking bays. A considerable effort was carried out to offer the plants optimal starting conditions.
Unfortunately, there have been significant defects in the past few weeks, which are mainly due to vandalism, the entering of the green areas and the parking of garbage cans and bicycles. A joint claimant determination showed that the damage incurred has a value of around € 17,000.
To protect the planting, protective devices will be installed in the next few weeks. The resort is planned for the period between August and September to preserve the newly set plants from the effects of hot days.
The city of Kleve appeals to residents and passers -by carefully dealing with the road walking green. In addition, urban employees will be regularly on site to check the effectiveness of the measures and prevent further damage.
