Experience school children organic cooking with top chef in Kleve

organic food is not only healthy, but also extremely tasty-this recently proved the students of the Karl Leisner primary school in Kleve. In a mobile show kitchen on the Herzogstrasse, they were not only allowed to lend a hand themselves, but also learned from a very special cook.

Markus Haxter, a well -known top chef, took the children on a culinary journey of discovery into the world of biological dishes. He was supported by Mayor Wolfgang Gebing and the eco-model regional manager Kirstin Surmann, who together with the small chefs prepared a delicious organic lunch. Equipped with a chef's hat and spoon, the children snapped fresh, regional ingredients under Haxter's instructions and learned a lot about the origin of their food and their diverse use in modern cuisine.

delicious learning in the show kitchen

The event was under the motto "More organic with you" and showed in a vivid way how interesting and inviting the use of organic food can be. While the children were eagerly cooked, Haxter also demonstrated in front of the eyes of passers-by how simple and at the same time creative the preparation of organic dishes can be. The viewers could not only marvel at the freshly prepared dishes, they also got the opportunity to try the delicious samples themselves.

In addition to the culinary experiences, interested parties received exciting information about the Bio-Region Niederrhein. This region describes itself as a sponsor of ecological agriculture and supports the marketing of products that come from Lower Rhine organic farmers. Children and adults learned how important it is to support local producers and what ecological advantages offer biologically grown foods.

The event "More organic in your pan" is part of a comprehensive information campaign by the State Association of Ecological Landbau NRW (LVÖ). This initiative aims to sharpen consumers' awareness and to bring them closer to the concerns of ecological agriculture. The campaign is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture North Rhine-Westphalia, which promotes ecological farming and at the same time the home of the campaign, the eco-model region of Lower Rhine, moved into the spotlight. This region comprises the districts of Kleve and Wesel and works to clarify the citizens about the advantages and possibilities of organic products.

The event was not only instructive for the children, but also offered adults a unique perspective on the advantages of ecological consumption. On the website www.ömr.de you will find a lot of information about the eco-model regions in NRW and their initiatives. This makes it clear that organic is not just a trend, but a conscious lifestyle that benefits both health and the environment.
