A tragic traffic accident occurred on the Woltersweg near Geldern last Sunday. A 74-year-old woman from the region drove her pedelec towards Vernum when she was suddenly hit by an approaching car.

The senior citizen was just about to switch to the bike path when the collision came. Fortunately, the 22-year-old driver of the car, a Dutch from Arcen, was unharmed. The pedelecist, on the other hand, suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to the hospital immediately.

The incident again shows the dangers in road traffic, especially for vulnerable road users and cyclists. It is important to be aware of your own responsibility and always act carefully to avoid such accidents.
