accident on the B9 near Weißenthurm: Collision with wild boar rotting
An unfortunate incident occurred yesterday on the B9 near Weißenthurm when a 63-year-old driver from Andernach was traveling towards Koblenz. Shortly before the Andernach-Miesenheim departure, a Rotten wild boar suddenly crossed the street, consisting of a Mother's sow and several freshlings. The driver could not brake in time and collided with the Rotte.
Tagically fourteen freshlings were killed in the collision. The rescue and cleaning of the accident site required the blocking of the right lane towards Andernach for about 45 minutes. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed, but her vehicle was significantly damaged in the front area. The hunter who is responsible for the area took care of the affected animals.
Wild accidents are unfortunately not uncommon in the region and represent a great danger for both road traffic and the wild animals. It is important to drive carefully in the early morning and evening hours and to be careful when changing wild changes in order to avoid such incidents.
