Common control measures to combat red light crime in Koblenz and the surrounding area
Implementation of new strategies to contain red light crime in Koblenz
In view of the increasing problem of red light crime, the city of Koblenz recently introduced new measures to combat this phenomenon. At various locations where prostitution is operated, controls took place to uncover and pursue potential crimes. The collaboration was carried out not only with the Koblenz police headquarters, but also with the responsible authorities of the city of Koblenz, the district administrations of Mayen-Koblenz, Neuwied and Rhein-Lahn-Kreis as well as the main customs office and the Koblenz tax office. This cooperative approach is intended to use all legal possibilities to combat criminal networks in red light crime.
A special focus was on the housing prostitution, in which a total of 25 people were checked. Violations of the prostitution law and the state building regulations were found, which are now being pursued. In addition, four criminal proceedings were initiated due to violations of foreign law provisions.
The measures are aimed at permanent efforts to uncover criminal machinations and to support possible victims. In addition, structures that promote human trafficking are actively combated in order to sustainably improve security in the region.
In the future, further measures will be planned to effectively contain red light crime and to protect the citizens in Koblenz and the surrounding area. For more information please contact:
