A quiet weekend was overshadowed by a series of traffic accidents in the Simmern police inspection. A total of 11 accidents occurred within two days, in which three people were slightly injured. These were brought to the surrounding hospitals for further examination.

In the early morning hours of July 13, 2024, there was a violent argument between two men on Koblenzer Strasse in Simmern. One of the men was injured. The police asks witnesses who can provide relevant information on the incident to report on 06761 9210.

Another dramatic event occurred at the recycling company Hahn-plastics, where a fire broke out in the early morning of July 13, 2024. The fire was created on an external ventilation system of a factory building, which led to strong smoke development. Fortunately, there was no immediate danger to the nearby towns or air traffic. The local fire departments were able to control and extinguish the fire. The exact cause of the fire is still unknown, but the damage caused by property is temporarily estimated at around EUR 400,000.
