Julian Kaske celebrates great success at the South German championships in canal racing

At the recently held southern German championships in canal racing in Mannheim, Julian Kaske from Neuwied was able to achieve some remarkable success. The 18-year-old, who competes for the KT Meddernisch from Koblenz, secured the gold medal in the K1 over 500 m in a gripping race in front of his competitor David Müller (DRC Neuburg) and Emil Flohr (WSV Mannheim-Sandhofen) in the junior age group.

But not enough, because Kaske also won the title of the southern German champion in the K2 over 1000 m, together with his partner Rasmus Schwandt, which also starts for the KT in the medium. He was also able to secure the runner -up in K2 over 500 m, together with Jannik Heritz from the Rheinbrüdern Karlsruhe.

A particularly scarce race delivered Kaske over 500 m in the K4, where he and his team from Canute team Baden-Württemberg, consisting of Rasmus Schwandt, Tian Konrad and Daniel Helfert, only lost three hundredths of a second against another boat from the Baden-Württemberg. Nevertheless, Kaske secured the silver medal in front of the third-placed boat from Baden-Württemberg.

His long -time trainer Gabi Schulz from Neuwied was extremely proud of the achievements of her protégé, which she has been coaching for nine years. Kaske will now prepare intensively for the German championships during the summer vacation, which will be held in Brandenburg/Havel from August 13th to 18th.

The impressive performance of the Kaske family continues, because 9-year-old Caroline Kaske was also able to shine for the southern German championship at the frame races. She secured the bronze medal in the cane fight, which includes paddling over 500 m, running over 1000 m and an obstacle course.
